Fall Workshops 2017

Musical Theatre Audition Prep Apr 8

Meetings:This is a one-day workshop, meeting on Saturday, April 8th from 11 AM to 2 PM at Arlington Center for the Arts.
Cost:$50
In this one day intensive prep class, actors will learn techniques and skills helpful for a musical theatre audition. Whether auditioning for a professional or amateur production, or prepping for a college or conservatory audition, topics such as eye contact and posture and how to interact with artistic staff such as the director, and piano accompanist.

Class is great preparation for ACT Summer 2017 auditions held in May
ACT's Dance Revue: Age 7-12 Apr 15

Ages:7–12
Size:Maximum 12, Minimum 6*
Where: ACT Space at ACA
Meetings:Saturday April 15th from 11-2 PM.
Cost:$50
This one day workshop is designed to touch upon the basics of several styles of dance. In this class students will explore many varieties of dance popular in musical theatre, such as hip-hop, jazz, and modern.
ACT's Dance Revue: Age 13-18 Apr 22

Where: Arlington Center for the Arts Stage
Meetings:Saturday April 22nd from 11-2 PM.
Cost:$50

Beginning Acting: One Day Intensive Apr 22
Instructor:Matt Lundeen
Ages:7–12
Size:Maximum 12, Minimum 6*

Meetings:This is a one-day workshop meeting for 3 hours from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 22nd
Cost:$50
Through warm ups, ice breakers, and movement exercises actors will learn character development, and stage presence. Actors will also work on a short presentation to perform for friends and family at the end of the class.
An Actor Prepares: An Introduction to Stanislavski May 13

Ages:13–18
Size:Maximum 12, Minimum 6*

Meetings:This one-day workshop meets for 3 hours from 11 AM to 2 PM on May 13th.
Cost:$50
Have you been in a rehearsal, and asked to participate in an exercise about concentration, affective memory, or just asked to justify your character's objectives? Also known as method acting, these exercises and techniques, developed by Constantin Stanislavski, aid actors in creating in themselves the thoughts and feelings of their characters. In this one day workshop, actors will participate in several core exercises as they prepare brief scenes to perform at the end of class.

Minimums: If the minimum number of registrations is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled.
