Spring Workshops

Creative Movement

Where:	ACT Space at ACA
Meetings:	Ten Saturdays from 10–10:50 AM starting March 27.
Cost:	$110

A class for preschoolers that encourages self-confidence, movement expression and creativity in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Each class will include a warm-up, dancing and exploring with a prop such as scarves, ribbons or feathers to classical music, marching, leaping and galloping across the floor, and a story dance that puts all these elements together.

Showtunes Showcase

Ages:	8+
Size:	Maximum 16, Minimum 8*
Where:	ACT Space at ACA
Meetings:	Ten Saturday mornings from 9–10 starting March 27th.
Cost:	$130

Showtunes Showcase is a program designed to introduce participants to the many components of musical theater, such as choreography, singing, and acting. Students will learn songs from popular Broadway shows to be performed at the end of the session. Students will have the opportunity to be showcased in large and small group numbers, duets, trios, and small solos. All participants will develop the skills both to work as a group and to shine on their own! Students of all abilities are encouraged to join!

Puppets!

Meetings:	Ten Wednesdays from 5:30–7:00 pm starting March 17th.

Can't get enough Sesame St. or Avenue Q? Why not learn to make your own real foam and felt puppets! No brown paper bags, no socks! Learn the art of making real Muppet-style puppets and make any person or creature imaginable. Students will be carefully lead through the entire arts and crafts process from hair braids to hand rods. They will also be given instruction in puppeteering to help make their project really come alive, culminating at weeks end with a puppet show. All ages welcome.

Private Coaching

Meetings:	Arranged at times convenient to the students and instructor.
Cost:	$50 per session

Want to improve your acting skills for that next audition or performance? ACT offers private coaching with Artistic Director Colleen Rua, a longtime actor and director who holds a BA in Acting, MA in Theatre Education, and is ABD in Drama at Tufts University. Alone or in pairs, Colleen will work with you on monologues, scenes and techniques to help you be at your best on stage! Character development, movement and articulation/projection are just a few of the areas you might focus on. Develop your own set of goals and achieve them with your own personal acting coach! A 50-minute session is $50, and sessions may be scheduled with Colleen on a one-time, weekly, or more flexible basis.

ACT Improv Troupe Spring 2010

Ages:	11–18
Meetings:	10 Saturdays from 2 to 4. No meetings on 3/13, 5/1 or 5/15.
Where:	ACT Space at ACA
Performances:	Regular performances will be scheduled.
Cost:	$200

Beginning on March 6th, Improvisers who wish to be a part of PERFORMANCES must formally register. Payment will be due every ten weeks, and the cost of each ten-week session is $200 to be paid at the time of registration (or at the first meeting of each 10-week session). The cost includes the weekly two-hour workshop/rehearsal, any additional meetings leading up to performance, and a monthly performance, beginning in April.

For those ACTors who wish to attend on a drop-in basis, you may do so, at the $10/class rate, but you will not be able to perform in the monthly show.

Minimums: If the minimum number of registrations is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled.
